UTOPIA – MULTINATIONALE JUGEND-THEATERWERKSTATT
    Der Verein Jugendkulturarbeit hat mit der im Februar begonnenen Renovierung des ehemaligen Offizier-Kasinos der Donnerschwee-Kaserne, die Utopie eines eigenen internationalen Jugendprojektehaus verwirklicht.
    100 Gäste aus Spanien, Lettland, England, Polen, Frankreich und Deutschland sind seit einer Woche in Oldenburg zu Besuch und haben sich in drei international gemischten Workshops mit dem Thema Utopie tänzerisch und theatral beschäftigt. Entstanden sind einzelne Szenen sowie Gruppenperformances, die die Einstellungen, Hoffnungen und Vorstellungen der Jugendlichen und die Einflüsse jeder einzelnen Kultur widerspiegeln.

Durch und durch ein Stück gelebte Utopie! `Snapshots of Utopia´ is a performance of scenes that were entrirely devised by the young people. It began with the question “What is the Utopia you can achieve in your life?” After this, various techniques were used to explore the topic whilst and also to teach the young people new skills. The youg actors were honest and mature in their work, acknowledging that `dystopia´ must exist in order to highlight utopia.     (A.-M. Olufuwa)
